Iyengar Yoga with Jenny Hulin

These are strengthening and active classes working with Precision and alignment in the posture. Focusing on a wide range of different exercises to cover the whole body incorporating breathe work and pranayama (deeper focused breathe) + lots of rejuvenating poses to help calm our body mind and help replenish our energy.

Wednesday more progressive (iyengar experience preferred ) 10 - 11.30pm
Also once a month Saturday morning drop in classes. An extended class to experience a deeper sense of practice.

Iyengar Yoga Classes with Barbra Vidon

Thursday 09:30 - 11:00 & 19:00 - 20:30
This class is suitable for beginners as well as those with yoga experience. The teaching is methodical, focusing on correct alignment and absolute safety. When necessary props are used to allow you to practice safely, at your own pace, to suit your body.

Chair Yoga
Thursdays 11:30 - 12:30
This hour long class is for you if you find it difficult to get up and down from the floor. Traditional yoga poses are adapted and practiced sitting, or standing using the chair for support. Along with plenty of stretching and strengthening exercises there is deep relaxation so you will leave feeling relaxed and energised.

Slimming World

Hi I am Harriet and I am the Sidmouth Slimming Consultant with over six years experience.
I am passionate about helping and supporting my members to achieve their weight loss dreams after losing seven stone myself by joining Slimming World in 2015.

Sue Read Yoga

Sue has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for many years
she is a qualified Iyengar teacher and continues to train weekly with senior Iyengar teachers.
Sue is also an ex-midwife and Birthright teacher and is planning to teach Antenatal Yoga too in 2023

Her classes at Stowford are for beginners/improvers – all are welcome and we aim to progress slowly and efficiently.
Yoga promotes a sense of mental and physical wellbeing, positively and improves posture along with balance. In classes Sue instills a feeling of achievement along with a good sense of humor!

Taekwondo

Sidmouth Taekwondo is a local Taekwondo club and offer a family-based and friendly environment where anybody from any background can enjoy Taekwondo.

Gentle Yoga For All Including Beginners

A more gentle class suitable for older practitioners and all levels including beginners.
The class focuses on stretching the body to relieve tightness and tension within and grounding postures to create stability and strength.
Breathing practices to help relieve stress and anxiety are included. We finish with a deep relaxation in which you can truly relax and let go.

East Devon Parkinson’s Support Group.

The local Parkinson’s group uses the Stowford Centre for its weekly Parkinson’s exercise activities.
The facilities available match our needs, with level disabled access and spacious and airy halls. The kitchen area with its adjoining room allowing our users to enjoy a cup of coffee and socialise after exercise.
Both exercise & ability to socialise after classes are a real benefit to our users which is so important for Parkinson’s sufferers.

Pilates with Rachel

At Pilates me right you will develop core control & strengthening, full body toning, improved flexibility, and posture. As a Senior Occupational Therapist in musculoskeletal rehab and qualified Pilates Instructor, I tailor exercises to suit your individual health needs including using Pilates for pain management reduction. Enjoy friendly and fun classes for relaxation and full body conditioning.
